How long have you worked at the Oxwich Bay Hotel?

I have been a team member for a year and a half.

What do you love most about working at the Oxwich Bay Hotel?

What I love most is regularly meeting the locals that come through our doors.

Have you always worked in hospitality?

No, before joining the Oxwich Bay Hotel, I worked in retail at M&S.

What does your present role involve?

For my current role, I have to make sure that the team is providing the best service possible for the customers and that everything is presented to the highest possible standard.

What inspired you to become Bistro Supervisor?

Feeling the confidence grow inside of me, I felt that I was ready to take a bigger responsibility within the hotel.

What is your favourite part of the job?

My favourite part of the job is starting a shift knowing I have a strong and supportive team with me.

Are there any aspects you find challenging?

With the current situation at hand, there is always the challenge of keeping up to date with the newest regulations in place.

What skills do you think make you suitable for the job?

I think the main skills that are suitable for this job are confidence and communication; I can maintain a warm welcome for any and every customer that walks through our door.

What are some of the great things about working in a hotel?

Especially in the bistro, the greatest thing about working in the hotel is connecting with the guests and getting to know them gradually over the period of their stay. Another great thing is the opportunity of working in other departments as well.

Where is your favourite place in/around the hotel?

My favourite place around the hotel would be the beach.

What is your favourite dish to eat in our restaurant?

8oz sirloin steak with the peppercorn sauce

What is your favourite time of year at the hotel?

I would say Spring time as it is not a quiet period, but it is not overwhelming neither.
